John,
Republicans love to lie about Social Security.
They say the program is bankrupt or that it’s a Ponzi scheme―or that so-called “entitlements” are running up the national debt.
The reality is that Social Security doesn’t add one nickel to the debt or deficit because it’s independently funded by payroll contributions. But that doesn’t stop Republicans, like Senator Mike Crapo, from spreading lies in their endless attempt to cut Social Security:

Mandatory spending and entitlement programs account for nearly three-quarters of our national debt, and continue running unchecked and on autopilot. I support measures to reform these programs, as well as efforts like this balanced budget amendment.

In order to expand Social Security in 2021, we need to fight back against the GOP lies. And this month you can support Social Security Works without opening your wallet!
Click here to vote for Social Security Works in this month’s CREDO voting.
CREDO―a progressive phone company that donates $2 million each year to progressive nonprofits―selects three groups each month to compete for a share of $150,000. The more votes we get, the more money Social Security Works will receive.
And the reality is, this grant from CREDO comes at a critical time.
In January, we raised less than half of what we were raising every month before the election. And we need your sustained support in order to expand Social Security in 2021.
Click here to vote for Social Security Works in February’s CREDO voting, and help us receive as large a share of the $150,000 grant as possible.
Working together, we have an incredible opportunity to make real, positive change a reality for millions of people.
Thank you,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
