There are no guarantees, and ongoing vigilance will be required, but President Joe Biden's announcement of an end to U.S. particpation in and arming of the war on Yemen is a tremendous victory for all of us who have spent years pressing for it.
It has been a global effort, with people in numerous nations acting to block weapons with legislation and with their own bodies, and people across the United States moving the U.S. Congress to act for the first time ever, using the War Powers Resolution.
Thank you for everything you've done to help!
This is a moment to increase our activism. The wars left to end, the bases to close, the weapons to dismantle seem endless, but are not. We can end them, one by one.
