This week brought more positive developments on the fight against COVID-19. Governor Holcomb announced that vaccine eligibility has been expanded to now include Hoosiers 65 and over. Governor Holcomb’s leadership has Indiana consistently in the top tier of state vaccinations and broadening the eligibility will help us get through this faster. Governor Holcomb also had a chance to visit with his friend, Medal of Honor recipient and 2018 Sachem Awardee Sammy Davis. Sammy’s story of service, courage and sacrifice for our nation and freedom is a true inspiration for all Americans. His heroic actions helped save the lives of his comrades in Vietnam.

Indiana's Vaccine Rollout

Under Governor Holcomb’s leadership, Indiana's vaccine rollout is one of the best in the nation! In addition to healthcare workers and first responders, Hoosiers aged 65 and up are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations. Black History Month

Monday marked the start of Black History Month –– an important opportunity for us to highlight the incredible achievements and contributions that African Americans have made to better our state and our nation. 

Looking back at our Hoosier history books, it’s clear that Indiana would not be the state that it is today without the help of Black Hoosiers who pushed the boundaries, defied the odds, and paved the way forward in business, in sports, in music, and in so much more. Join us in celebrating them by watching this video.

Protecting Hoosier Consumers

Attorney General Todd Rokita is leading a multi-state, bi-partisan action to overturn a federal court decision and ensure state attorney generals can effectively fight robocalls. We're proud that Attorney General Rokita is at forefront of the fight against robocalls, which are excessively frustrating and can cause financial harm.

Governor Holcomb's Statement on $12.5 Million Opioid Settlement

Governor Holcomb provided the following statement regarding the announcement of Indiana's $12.5 million settlement with McKinsey & Company, resolving investigations into the company’s role in profiting from the opioid epidemic:

“From the first day of my administration, I made combatting the drug epidemic a top priority, and that includes holding accountable those who created and fueled this crisis. I want to thank the Attorney General and his office for their work on this settlement that will help fund prevention, education and treatment efforts. No amount of money can undo the devastating toll inflicted by the opioid epidemic, but this is another step toward helping Hoosier families recover from this national crisis.” -Governor Holcomb
