Hi there,

As the pandemic rages on, it's clear that working people are bearing the brunt of this crisis. Families from coast to coast are wondering how they will afford rent, food, childcare, and healthcare bills while also dealing with life-altering events like unemployment, lost loved ones, and isolation.

New leadership in the White House couldn't have come a moment too soon. With a deep understanding for the urgency of this crisis, President Joe Biden's first priority in office was releasing a comprehensive COVID-19 recovery plan -- the American Rescue Plan. Here are some key components of his proposal:

Direct cash payments to working families while millions of people are out of work and struggling to pay bills
Support for vaccines and testing as we work to save lives and achieve herd immunity
Funding for schools and childcare to ensure our kids and teachers are taken care of
Enhanced unemployment benefits so even though doors remain shut, people can get by
Expanded food assistance so struggling families don't have to ration meals
Rent and an eviction moratorium because no one should have to worry about whether they can afford to keep a roof over their head during this pandemic

I am proud to stand by President Biden in support of his Recovery Plan. As we continue to dig ourselves out of this unprecedented crisis, we must support big, bold policies that meet the needs of the American people.

Friends, we can see the light at the end of this long tunnel. But until we get there, I'll keep working to ensure that families here in the Third District and across our Commonwealth get the critical support they need to make ends meet.

We will get through this together - and I'll keep you updated along the way.

Sincerely,
Lori
