*For all the latest news from the Nottingham Asian Arts Council*

Hi there,

Welcome to the first 2021 edition of our NAAC e-alert. Its been a very long time since we got in touch...last time being in mid-March, when, whether we were prepared or not, the world as we knew it was changing! COVID-19 triggered the implementation of a national lockdown, crucially, forcing businesses across the UK to close for the safety of our most vulnerable citizens. Many staff, including us at NAAC were furloughed; the pandemic has undoubtedly had an adverse impact globally. However, as a nation we have found innovative ways to overcome this, from VE day street parties to a weekly 'Clap for the NHS'.

2020 was a tough year for most, however, with news of vaccines and improved treatments on the way, 2021 is already looking to be healthier! Some of you have managed to get your vaccination, others are waiting patiently. It is vital we all stay positive, continue to socially distance and follow the government guidelines.Nottingham City Council has done its level best to continue services through the provision of a Covid-secure workplace, ensuring the safety of clients and staff.

Over the next few months, we will endeavor to re-engage our members, conclusively keeping you updated with upcoming developments. We acknowledge NAAC Music & Dance Academy is paramount to connect our community, who rely on participatory activities. Thus, we are looking at alternative options to reacquaint our members and workshop tutors; this is the new 'Normal' after all, masks and sanitizers have overtaken discussing the weather as small talk and virtual platforms have taken center-stage!

*We are currently in the process of organising Online Music & Dance workshops, so please register your interest with us ASAP. Click for More Details... [ [link removed] ]*

*Please take care and stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our live events and workshops as soon as it is safe and we are allowed! *In the meantime, check*What's On Weekly [ [link removed] ]*for a programme of accessible events and activities in Nottingham...
