Not our words. The words of Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta, who, commissioned by the treasury, published a landmark, independent review into The Economics of Biodiversity this week.

It argues that nature is our most precious asset and continuing to live above the threshold of what our planet has the capacity to supply isn’t good.

OK. So the findings aren’t ground breaking. But, rightly or wrongly, tying the loss of biodiversity to the UK’s economic stability has made the need for urgent, co-ordinated and transformative change clearer than ever.

At the start of this Ocean Decade, the government has huge opportunities to turn words into action as the UK hosts the G7 summit and COP26. We’ll be using these moments, and others, to unite the voice of the ocean and demand change to restore our depleted Blue Planet. We are in the midst of a biodiversity, ocean and climate emergency, and we must take action together.

Environment Bill moves back... again.

For the 3rd time in a row, the Environment Bill has been postponed. “Every day we lose to inaction puts nature in an even more precarious position” Hugo Tagholm, CEO at SAS. We'll be working behind the scenes to back sure the bill comes back in a better state when it's tabled in May. Stay tuned.
