2020 in review

Good evening,
I hope you and your loved ones managed to spend some time together and have a nice break over the holiday period.
I’m sure you’ll agree that this time last year, we had no idea what was coming.
In early March 2020, our small team met and reviewed our mission, vision and values statement. We felt invigorated by our past successes and hopeful of a future where our impact could be greater. In a nutshell, we had grand plans!
Next minute, many of us were thrown into working from home, home schooling, isolating at home and in our case - decision making about whether or not we could safely remain open. We sadly cancelled our Mother’s Day Lunch, we closed the doors to goods donations and to our incredible volunteers. The moments of uncertainty felt overwhelming at times.
But as we all know, babies don’t stop being born during a pandemic. The requests for support kept flooding in. We knew that it wasn't an option to close the doors and say no to families in desperate need.
So we asked for your help…. and there you were.
We were flooded with goods donations via post and courier. We had more financial donations than ever before on Giving Day - from current supporters and lots of new ones. Volunteers helped out in a number of different ways from home.
We were blown away by the constant love and support. It’s something we will never forget. And something the families you supported will never forget either.
Because of all this generosity, here is what we achieved together in 2020.
I can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support. 5,588 babies and children were given essential nursery equipment and felt happier, healthier and safer because of you.
I feel so fortunate to be part of a community of people who genuinely care for others.
As always, we’re making grand plans for 2021 and we can’t wait to keep in touch throughout the year.
In the meantime, if you have any queries or would like to know more about volunteering, dropping off goods donations, donating money or just for a chat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Julia
