Dear John,
First, I want to wish you a better and more prosperous year ahead. Over the past 6 years, you have believed in me and have invested in my work and my vision for Providence. As we step into 2021, I want to recap where we’ve been and where we’re going over the next couple of years.
We’ve been responsible with our finances and have created the strongest fiscal position for our city in over 40 years. We created record surpluses while making 100% of our pension payments. We’ve also built a $20M rainy day fund and increased our bond rating to a solid investment grade. We’ve improved our finances without raising taxes for the first time since the Second World War. I’m also proud of our accomplishments in education, employment, business renewal, and infrastructure. Together we’ve made Providence a better place for everyone, but there is more to be done.
I want to ensure you that my focus is on improving the future for all citizens in Providence and beyond. I am very grateful to all the people who have helped me achieve my fundraising goals and I am hoping that you will continue to support me so that I can implement the substantive plans that matter so much to us all. Your recurring monthly support will keep my momentum going.
I know that you have my back. That’s what motivates me to fight hard every day. Will you consider a monthly recurring contribution of $25, $50, $75, $100?
