Because of Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff’s victories in their runoff elections in Georgia, Democrats have won back control of the Senate. Coupled with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ victory in the White House, we are now in a position to advance real and meaningful progress for our country.

And one of the greatest issues facing us as a country is climate change.

John, I am proud and excited to assume the role of Chairman on the Committee on Environment and Public Works. I’m looking forward to working with Joe, Raphael, Jon, and all of my colleagues in Congress to tackle this existential crisis facing our planet and to build back our country, better and stronger than before.

I spoke to the Delaware News Journal about building our agenda to tackle climate change and protect our environment for the new term. Please take a minute to read the article here >> [[link removed]]

The truth is we have a lot of work ahead of us to ensure everyone in our country has clean air to breathe, safe water to drink, and healthy communities free of pollution.

Too many Americans -- disproportionately people of color and Indigenous communities -- are suffering the consequences of toxic pollution. And climate change is one of the single greatest threats to our economy, public health, and our way of life.

We need to take steps toward ensuring clean air and water for all Americans and we need to dramatically reduce global warming pollution by cutting back on auto emissions and focusing on wastewater treatment to combat harmful chemical contaminations. And we need to transition to a clean, carbon-neutral economy while creating new jobs for American workers.

With Joe and Kamala in the White House and Democratic control in the Senate, I am confident that we can make our country lead the world on climate action.
