Hello,

Several months ago, Derek made a commitment that – when someone reached out to his office having lost their job, lost their business, or lost a loved one due to this pandemic – he would call them directly. In the months that have passed, he’s had almost daily conversations with folks who have really felt like the rug has been pulled out from under them.

Those conversations have given Derek a sense of urgency about making sure people get the help they need. Making sure people can keep a roof of their head, feed their family and pay their bills shouldn’t be a Democratic or Republican issue. Simply put, it’s an American issue.

None of us can or should ignore that there's still a major battle raging across the United States. The COVID-19 pandemic is the largest health and economic crisis of our generation. We need to crush this virus. The American people need assistance. Now is not a time for partisan bickering – it should be a time for progress.

Congress was able to get a targeted stimulus bill passed and signed into law before the end of the year, but Derek understands more help is needed NOW.

It's time Congress joins together and works with President Biden to pass additional relief to help the folks on the front lines and ensure people in our region can get back on their feet. Add your name today if you agree Congress needs to focus on additional relief now.
