In April 1961, Ulysses S. Grant, explaining his decision to return to
active duty and to fight for the Union, wrote, "There are but two parties
now, traitors and patriots." Abraham Lincoln had become President on the
basis of realigning the patriots of the nation into a new party, the
Republican Party. A similar realignment is taking place today, around
Donald Trump's intention to take over the Republican Party. The traitors in
the Republican Party are being exposed and censured. Bush Republicans are
leaving in droves, with one bemoaning, "The Republican Party as I knew it
no longer exists." Democrats such as Senator Joe Manchin (WV) and Rep.
Marcy Kaptur (OH) are watching in horror as their constituents are being
destroyed by the green fascist decrees of the Davos-run Biden
Administration.
Such realignments have taken place at critical times throughout our
history, with the traitors of the British Empire and Wall Street arrayed
against the producers and patriots of the nation. LaRouche called for such
a realignment in 1978 in a document presaging the 1980 Reagan victory
(which was based on recruiting the Reagan Democrats), and the 2016 Trump
victory (which was based on the "forgotten men and women.") But, as
LaRouche said then, such a realignment must become conscious of the
principles upon which it is based, or it will not last—*as it has not*
throughout most of our history.
