The COVID-19 pandemic has made it more clear than ever that our economy is
working for the biggest corporations and wealthiest individuals — while
dramatically failing workers, particularly women and workers of color.
Wages have been stagnant for the bottom 50% of workers. But for America's
651 billionaires? Their net worth has increased by more than $1 TRILLION
just since the pandemic began.
One crucial way to level the playing field is to protect workers' right to
organize for a better share of the wealth they create through a union. But
we urgently need to strengthen that right after decades of Republicans'
anti-worker policies. That's why Pramila helped reintroduce the PRO Act
today.

legislation to finally guarantee a fair workplace AND the right to
organize for every American worker?

For decades, unions have defended workers. They gave us the 40-hour
workweek, paid vacation, safe working conditions, and so much more.
Studies show that union members earn 19% more on average than those with
similar education, occupation, and experience in a similar non-union
workplace.
As someone who organized for working people and true economic justice
before she was elected to Congress, Pramila knows that this country still
has a long way to go to guarantee every worker a fair and safe working
environment where they are treated with dignity and without
discrimination.
The PRO Act will transform the workplace and put workers back on a path
toward dignity and shared prosperity. With a Democratic White House,
momentum is on our side, but it's going to take all of us mounting a
powerful show of force against the corporate special interests who prefer
the status quo.

passing this critical pro-worker legislation with a

We're all better off when we're all better off, and we can't stop fighting
until that happens.
In solidarity,
Team Jayapal
