Join URGE's Beyond Policing artivism campaign for exclusive swag!

Hello Friend,

When we launched URGE's Reproductive Justice Artivism project, Beyond Policing last month, we knew it would be a collaborative effort. This is because we can’t build a vision of a world beyond policing without the creativity and input of people like you.

Today we’re calling for young creatives to submit their proposals for video content from now through February 26. Once your proposal is approved, you will have one week to submit your video. If you're a Black creative who would like your video to be highlighted during Black History Month, please note that your video must be submitted to URGE by February 17.

All videos should be 30 seconds or less, shot vertically, and should answer the question: What's something that would make your community safer that doesn't rely on the police?

Your video can be funny, serious, educational, aspirational, or personal. You can appear onscreen or, if showing your face isn’t your thing, you can do a voice-over or even make a graphic slideshow showcasing your idea. The only limit is your imagination (and sticking with the theme).

In return, URGE will showcase your video on our social media channels and send you an exclusive URGE “Fund Abortions, Not Cops” Swag pack that includes a T-Shirt OR cropped hoodie (your choice) in your size, an URGE sticker assortment; a zippered pouch; and a small bonus gift.

Don't know where to start? Check out some of the real-life ways that other communities have moved beyond traditional policing to address public safety and transformative justice here.

In Solidarity,
