Some hopeful news, folks -- the New Mexico state legislature is set to repeal a law criminaling medical professionals who perform abortions.

While the law is not currently in effect thanks to Roe v. Wade, repealing it is an important step forward in protecting patients and providers in New Mexico -- no matter what happens in the Supreme Court.

In 2016, Republicans controlled the State House. As recently as 2018, our state's governor was a Republican. This victory is the result of our work organizing and electing Democrats up and down the ticket, and I couldn't be more proud to have supported over 40 local leaders who made this victory possible.

I set up the Lobo Leadership Fund to help elect local leaders who will take steps like this to move our state forward. Will you split a contribution with Lobo Leadership Fund to help build on our momentum?

Down-ballot races almost never get the attention that presidential and congressional races do. But the truth is that most change happens at the local level, and we need experienced and dedicated leaders in Albuquerque to move our state in the right direction.

Lobo Leadership Fund is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and uplifting these leaders. We select candidates based on their support of issues like reproductive rights, climate solutions, and an economy that works for everyone.

We've made incredible progress on these issues in the past few years -- and we're not done yet. If you're able, chip in a donation of any amount to help us support Democrats across the state and build on our progress in the years ahead:

Together, we can make New Mexico the best state in the country to live, work, and raise a family. That's the goal I'm committed to, and I'm proud to work with local leaders and supporters like you to make it happen.
