BEACH CITY COMMISSION RACE--CLARKE WILL FIGHT AND STAY IN THE RACE

WEST PALM BEACH, FL--Left-wing extremist, Deandre Poole, continues his outrageous
and unlawful plan to eliminate his opponents BEFORE the March 9, 2021 election,
robbing voters of a choice.
Poole made himself national news when he famously bullied an FAU student who refused
to "stomp" on the name of Jesus Christ during one of his classes. Mr. Poole announced
his candidacy by denouncing his only female opponent, Shalonda Williams as uneducated
and unworthy because she does not own her own home. He has continued his attacks
on Ms. Williams stating that she should leave the race because she has lived in
the city for only six months. Mr. Poole has already schemed to secure the disqualification
of a fourth candidate on a technicality about living at an unincorporated West Palm
Beach address.
Poole was backed by his lawyer Gerald F. Richman, a long-time Democrat operative
and insider, who fueled racial unrest when he unsuccessfully ran as a Democrat
for Congress in Miami in 1989 against Latina Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen by frequently
repeating his motto, "this is an American seat." Attorney Richman accused Clarke,
who was born in Jamaica, of "lying" about living in District 2 and made personal
attacks against Clarke's lawyer. Instead of allowing a free and fair election to
go forward, giving voters a choice, Poole is on a sub rosa campaign to rob voters
of their ability to choose.
Yesterday, Judge Howard K. Coates of the Circuit Court, 15th Judicial District,
ordered the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections to send a notice to West Palm
Beach voters receiving mail-in ballots that Roderick O. Clarke, candidate for West
Palm Beach City Commissioner District 2 has been temporarily disqualified from the
ballot in the upcoming March 9, 2021 municipal election pending a trial on whether
he lives in District 2, but that the voters are free to vote for him.
Mr. Clarke, a retired Marine who was honorably discharged after 20 years of distinguished
service, an ordained minister, and a manager at Walmart, was upset, saying "I had
been given only one day to find a lawyer, gather evidence and witnesses, and put
on a trial while working the night shift-I don't understand why I wasn't given
more time."
Poole, the Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party of Palm Beach County, testified
that he personally investigated Clarke's residency by knocking on what he thought
were Clarke's neighbors' doors, and no one knew Clarke-this was understandable,
as it was established that Poole had been knocking on doors on the wrong street.
Clarke produced his lease showing that he lived on North Congress Street, which
is in District 2, but was ultimately not able to convince the judge at this very
early stage of the proceedings.
Despite this turn of events, Roderick Clarke will stay in the race and continue
to fight for the citizens of West Palm Beach and to clear his name.
Clarke's Attorney David Merrill said that a full trial on the merits of the case
will demonstrate that Clarke is indeed a resident of District Two. Attorney Merrill
added, "This case isn't over--this was only a preliminary injunction. And to paraphrase
a famous American: 'We have not yet begun to fight' in court and expect a very successful
final hearing in the matter once all the evidence is brought to bear."
Republican Party of Palm Beach County Chairman Michael Barnett also weighed in:
"Roderick is an amazing human being, has served our country, and will make an excellent
West Palm Beach commissioner and public servant. We support Roderick, and we hope
and expect that he will prevail in this legal matter and ultimately his race for
commissioner."
