John, my community suffered a senseless tragedy. 19-year-old Jovanni Frausto was killed at the Fox River Valley mall. These headlines break my heart:

It’s a stark reminder that no community is immune from the gun violence epidemic. It’s far past time for elected officials to step up and pass legislation to curb gun violence. This week is National Gun Violence Survivors Week and I am tired of seeing us continuing to do nothing no matter how many tragedies pile up, from Las Vegas to Orlando to Parkland to Newton.
When I am elected in 2022, I will make it my mission to pass gun safety legislation to protect our country.
