Dear John,

Happy (early) Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air, there’s chocolate all around, and Chicago’s homeless animals like Burberry (above) are cuddling up with their people. If you’re still searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, consider giving the sweetest gift of all: life.

Whether you’re a secret admirer or have found your soulmate, tribute donations are a sweet way to show just how much you care. When you donate in your favorite animal lover’s name, you can pick out a cute PAWS Valentine’s Day card to send. (You can even send it anonymously)! ([link removed])

If you’re looking for a gift that’s a little cuddlier, consider making a donation of $100 or more to name a PAWS animal. Your gift will help a homeless pet grow, heal and live—a new start with a cute name!

** Show a Big Dog Some Big Love
------------------------------------------------------------

When PAWS volunteer Jillian foster-failed with her pup Bernie, she didn’t just adopt a new family member—she adopted 52 pounds of pure, cuddly love. “His favorite activity is snuggling as close as possible,” said Jillian. “I don't think he realizes how big he is!” Unfortunately, big dogs like Bernie often have trouble finding homes. That’s why we’re hosting our Big Love adoption event for dogs 40+ pounds from Feb. 8-14!

** Meet the PAWS Foster Team
------------------------------------------------------------

The PAWS Chicago Foster program has been up to some big things! Meet the team who makes it all possible.

** Remembering Nancy Kinzie
------------------------------------------------------------

For years, Nancy Kinzie worked tirelessly to help the homeless and community cats of her Back of the Yards neighborhood. She found new families for friendly strays, cared for cats that called her block home, and never turned her back on animals in need. We remember her as we’re sure the cats she’s helped remember her: kind and selfless. Thank you, Nancy.

** Wolfie’s PAWS Alumni Pupdate
------------------------------------------------------------

When Wolfie was found underweight and standing on an abandoned porch, we had no idea how his story with us would unfold - all we knew was that he was a PAWS dog, and we’d do everything we could to find him a home to meet his needs that couldn’t be met through love alone. Last April, he found his perfect pet- and kid-free people! Here’s a pupdate on how the once-overlooked Wolfie is doing.
