[[link removed]] Hi John,

The data is clear – women, especially women of color, are continuing to bear the
brunt of the coronavirus induced economic crisis. In the last 10 months, women
have lost a net of 5.4 million jobs, nearly one million more jobs than men.
Moreover, the nation's employment numbers for December revealed that the nonfarm
payroll job losses for the month were entirely borne by women. Women and their
families urgently need bold, structural policy changes that prioritize their
economic security in order to ensure a gender-equitable recovery—one on which
the success of the entire U.S. economy rests.

Our new brief, When Women Lose All the Jobs breaks down the latest employment
data by race, gender, and ethnicity, contextualized within women's employment
conditions before the pandemic, and recommends policy solutions to ensure the
economic security of women and their families.
