Letter-to-the-Editor: NBWA launches Distributors Against Human Trafficking initiative

Even though National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month is over, beer distributors' fight against human trafficking continues year round. One company, Kentucky Eagle, has trained all 168 of their employees to recognize and report the signs of human trafficking through NBWA's Distributors Against Human Trafficking initiative. "We could not be prouder to be part of this national effort and give traffickers fewer places to hide right here in Kentucky," reflected Kentucky Eagle President Tate Russell.

Beer distributors report signs of normalcy

The NBWA's Beer Purchasers' Index is the only forward-looking indicator for distributors to measure expected beer demand. According to January's data, the total BPI is at 66.4, returning to about the same level as January 2020, which notably was pre-pandemic. The "at-risk inventory," inventory at risk of going out of code in the next 30 days, came in at 37.9 in January 2021, up from 25.9 in December 2020.
