“Bill Gates, as one of the two wealthiest people on the planet with a net worth of nearly 117 billion dollars, has now become the most powerful philanthropist in modern history… But before his full PR makeover and after multiple antitrust lawsuits, Gates held the reputation of a ruthless tech giant, out to strong arm collaborators, wholly squash competitors, and clear the way from the monopolistic Microsoft empire… chained to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s million-dollar grants are private corporations and private market interests, the negative feedback loops of a technological solutionism, and the further rotting of legitimacy for international institutions…
Thanks to the Coronavirus crisis, the rot that existed in our current world structures came further into evidence… Compounded with an already ongoing climate and ecological crisis, and inequalities, we found ourselves at the boiling point of multiple pre-existing world problems. This makes it extremely tempting to look for immediate solutions to these crises frantically, and blindly. But this technological solutionist mentality that technology will be able to single handedly solve complex social problems to create a utopian future, relies on a heavy denial and forgetting of how technology has created and shaped these problems to begin with…”

President Joe Biden claims he can bring America, including urban and rural America, consumers and farmers, together. Looking at the country through the narrow lens of red and blue, Republicans and Democrats.
On January 27, 2021, President Joe Biden signed his “Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad.” This historic action commited the U.S. to achieving “significant short-term global reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and net-zero global emissions by mid-century or before.”
Biden’s climate EO was immediately likened to the Green New Deal resolution championed by the Sunrise Movement.
One big difference between the two is, while the Green New Deal sticks to direct government investment in proven climate solutions, Biden’s climate EO relies, in part, on “market-based mechanisms” and “robust standards for the market ... to catalyze private sector investment.”
Another difference is that the Green New Deal sets transformative goals for social justice that go beyond merely surviving the climate crisis, like “building a more sustainable food system that ensures universal access to healthy food.” By contrast, Biden’s climate EO doesn’t mention “food” even as it recognizes that “America’s farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners have an important role to play in combating the climate crisis and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, by sequestering carbon in soils, grasses, trees, and other vegetation and sourcing sustainable bioproducts and fuels.” Are “sustainable bioproducts” edible? They don’t sound very appetizing―or nourishing.
These two differences between the Green New Deal and Biden’s climate EO wouldn’t have us so concerned if it weren’t for the support for three dangerous false solutions that his Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack brings to the Biden-Harris Cabinet.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded another $10 million last week to the controversial Cornell Alliance for Science, a communications campaign housed at Cornell that trains fellows in Africa and elsewhere to promote and defend genetically engineered foods, crops and agrichemicals. The new grant brings BMGF grants to the group to $22 million.
The PR investment comes at a time when the Gates Foundation is under fire for spending billions of dollars on agricultural development schemes in Africa that critics say are entrenching farming methods that benefit corporations over people.

For years OCA and our allies have exposed the megalomania, “philantrocapitalism,” and destructive actions of billionaire Microsoft mogul Bill Gates.
We and others have justifiably criticized Gates and his powerful cabal for their reckless promotion of genetically engineered seeds and crops and chemical-intensive industrial agriculture. More recently we have called attention to Gates, Fauci, and others’ support and funding for controversial genetic engineering and lab manipulation of dangerous viruses and bacteria, such as those “gain-of-function” experiments, carried out jointly by US and Chinese scientists at the secretive and accident-prone Wuhan Institute of Virology and the US Biodefense/Biowarfare lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Now Gates is investing in a growing arsenal of experimental and genetically engineered vaccines and calling for mandatory vaccinations, digital tattoos, and vaccine passports, even as it becomes obvious that these “Warp Speed” vaccines have not been properly tested for efficacy or safety.
Gates is also, along with the World Economic Forum and the global elite, pushing for a supposed radical overhaul of business and government as usual, what he and his cronies call the Great Reset. It should come as no surprise that Gates now rivals his friends at Monsanto for being one of the most hated oligarchs in the world. In response Gates is lobbying Big Tech to help him slander and censor his critics. OCA, as you can imagine, takes this attack by Gates rather personally.

The Ecologist: “Billions of dollars spent promoting and subsidizing GMO seeds and agrichemicals across Africa have failed to fulfill their promises to alleviate hunger and lift small-scale farmers out of poverty, according to a new white paper published by the Tufts University Global Development and Environment Institute.
“African and German civil society organizations produced a report based on the research, “False Promises,” calling on governments to stop funding and subsidizing the so-called “green revolution” and shift support to programs that help small-scale food producers, particularly women and youth, develop climate-resilient ecologically sustainable farming practices…”

In March 2015, Bill Gates showed an image of the coronavirus during a TED Talk and told the audience that it was what the greatest catastrophe of our time would look like. The real threat to life, he said, is "not missiles, but microbes."
When the coronavirus pandemic swept over the earth like a tsunami five years later, he revived the war language, describing the pandemic as "a world war."
"The coronavirus pandemic pits all of humanity against the virus," he said.

In January 2021, after months of political tension and red tape, a 10-person team from the World Health Organization arrived in Wuhan, China to investigate the origins of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Wuhan is known as the epicenter of the global pandemic and, arguably, the most important research into COVID-19, outside of finding a cure, is how the pandemic started.
There are currently two such investigations underway — one by WHO and another by The Lancet's COVID-19 commission — but both are essentially “fake,” as they’re riddled with conflicts of interest.
Namely, Peter Daszak, EcoHealth Alliance president, is part of both of these investigations, despite working closely with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) — the laboratory in question that possibly leaked the virus — and dozens of others on controversial gain-of-function research, which involves manipulating pathogens, including coronaviruses, to make them more infectious or lethal.

“Radical” is a badge OCA has always worn, proudly. Even though we believe the policies we’ve supported consistently—many of which are successfully in place in other countries—are actually more sensible and practical than the weak measures being offered by others under slogans such as “Build Back Better.”
While it’s unfortunate that it’s taken a global pandemic to get there, we’re encouraged that more and more people, citizens and policymakers alike, are joining the call for radical change and radical policy reforms.
As Ben Phillips, Campaigns and Policy Director of ActionAid, wrote recently:
“This is a time for radically new policies. The bravest ideas of yesterday are the weak tea of today. Set out now your ideas for a bold tomorrow.”
We couldn’t agree more. Which is why we’ll keep fighting for a ban on industrial factory farms. And an Organic and Regenerative Revolution that includes “bold” reforms for U.S. food and farming policies.
As Phillips says:
“Throughout history, progress has been won through peoples own collective struggle. Alone, we may indeed be trapped by the structures in which we find ourselves, but history shows that acting together we have the capacity to remake them.”
