Congress has a QAnon problem. It’s clear that Kevin McCarthy isn’t going to do anything about it, but we are.
In January, House Republicans welcomed three QAnon sympathizers to their ranks: Lauren Boebert (Q-CO), Madison Cawthorn (Q-NC) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (Q-GA).
Taylor Greene is on record supporting violent threats against Democratic members, harassing lawmakers in the halls of Congress, calling both the Parkland and Sandy Hook shootings staged, and spreading antisemitic conspiracies that California wildfires were caused by a “Jewish Space Laser”. She’s boasting on twitter about how much money she’s raised:
Representative Madison Cawthorn’s divisive rhetoric has earned him the title of “the future of the Republican Party.” He’s the right wing’s darling, but he’s North Carolina’s national embarrassment. He claimed to be a “successful business owner headed to the Naval Academy” before his injury-- neither claim is true. He was rejected from the Naval Academy before his accident, and his one-person business reported no income -- not one dime -- on its tax documents.
