That's where the federal minimum wage has stood since it was last raised over a decade ago, John. In the nearly 12 years since, the cost of living has skyrocketed nationwide and too many people are struggling to just get by.

Since coming to Congress, Kim has worked to raise the wages of people across the country. In 2019, she helped pass the Raise the Wage Act to increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025, but this critical legislation was blocked by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

John -- no one should have to work multiple jobs to put food on the table or afford medical care, but that's the reality for people who make $7.25 an hour. With the pandemic exacerbating already existing financial difficulties for families, it's long past time we raise the minimum wage.

President Joe Biden's COVID-19 relief bill includes a plan that will raise the federal minimum wage to $15 by 2025 and will ensure all Americans are finally paid the living wage they deserve. Kim is ready to work with her colleagues to pass this crucial bill, but she wants to know what you think:
