John,
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been called a “kook” and “loony,” but these comments miss the point. Really, there is one thing that Rep. Greene is: Dangerous.
And, John, we cannot allow Greene – who has berated survivors from the Parkland shooting on video, supported vile conspiracy theories against mass shootings, and harassed House colleagues, to hold any kind of power in our government. Despite this hateful vitriol and dangerous actions, Rep. Greene still sits on two committees, one of which is the committee on Education and Labor where she has the power to oversee programs for schools across the country. Our children and our country are at risk.
This is critically urgent, John: We cannot stand for a Representative that believes school shootings are fake to have any power in our educational system. The House is voting IN MERE HOURS to remove Rep. Greene from her committee assignments, and we need to show an outpouring of bipartisan support for their effort. John, will you add your name to our petition and urge the House to strip Rep. Greene of her committee assignments?
Rep. Greene’s actions and comments have caused harm and continue to hurt gun violence survivors, their families, and all Americans. She has used her platform to push vicious, baseless conspiracy theories that the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012, the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, and the Parkland shooting in 2018 were staged. Her behavior is sickening and we must condemn it with full force.
What’s worse – this vitriolic attack is not an isolated event for Rep. Greene, John. It is part of a pattern of years of abusive behavior against gun violence survivors like me and my family: She has used her platform to push vicious, baseless conspiracy theories that the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012, the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, and even the Parkland shooting where my sister was killed in 2018 were staged.
John, I am personally asking you to join me in making clear that Rep. Greene’s violent rhetoric and abusive behavior has no place in Congressional committees. Please, will you add your name to our petition and urge the House to strip Rep. Greene of her committee assignments?
