REPUBLICAN PARTY OF NEW MEXICO CONDEMNS GOV. LUJAN GRISHAM DISHING OUT HEFTY PAY RAISES TO HER INNER CIRCLE
GOVERNOR’S ACTION IS WRONG AND CALLOUS AT A TIME WHEN CONSTITUENTS ARE HURTING
Albuquerque, February 4—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce regarding Gov. Lujan Grisham giving out big raises to her staff:
“Gov. Lujan Grisham continues to ignore struggling New Mexicans. When she closed shops, she went shopping. Now, with the economy collapsing and thousands of New Mexicans suffering as a result of her mishandling of the pandemic, she rewards her inner circle with raises. This money could have gone to help small businesses and others in real need. This is a selfish act. The Governor has failed the state and shows little interest in helping her constituents. Now, with the uncertainty of the oil and gas industry that provides vital funds for our state, she chooses to fatten the wallets of her staff while continuing to shortchange other areas and digging into our reserves.”
