Lobbyists, special interests and dark money groups pour money into our elections, drowning out the voices of everyday Americans.

Jack:

There is a fundamental disconnect between what the majority of Americans want, and what actually gets done in Washington.

Think about it: Aggressive action on climate change, gun violence reform, lower prescription drug costs, quality, affordable health care…all these issues (and more!) enjoy broad support across the country. But Congress can’t seem to take meaningful action on any of them.

I’ll tell you why: Lobbyists, special interests and dark money groups pour money into our elections, drowning out the voices of everyday Americans.

I’m committed to fixing this—to getting money out of politics, reforming our ethics laws, and restoring our Democracy. And that starts with overturning Citizens United.

Eleven years ago, the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision opened the floodgates to unlimited amounts of dark money pouring into our elections. The decision amounted to state-sanctioned corruption—and fundamentally eroded the American people’s faith in our democracy.

We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take back our democracy—but it’s going to take ALL of us coming together to make our voices heard. Please, will you add your name to become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of the amendment to overturn Citizens United?

Changing the way we fund elections and attacking political corruption is the only way to accomplish any of our boldest, most progressive policies and truly help working families. Thank you for joining me in this fight.
