Friend,
Like so many other communities that were struggling before the pandemic, the crises in rural America have only gotten worse -- from food insecurity, to unemployment, to crumbling infrastructure and a lack of broadband, to unaffordable housing, to limited access to health care, and much more.
That's why I've recently reintroduced the Rebuild Rural America Act, along with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
The Rebuild Rural America Act empowers our rural communities by allocating $50 billion in federal funding that's long overdue --
especially when it comes to the communities in rural areas with higher poverty rates.
Rural Americans rarely have the grant writers or lobbyists to speak out for them. So I need your help to speak out if we're going to get the Rebuild Rural America Act passed.
If you're with our rural communities, join Sen. Gillibrand and me by becoming a citizen co-sponsor of the Rebuild Rural America Act >>
I'm proud to represent the 8th most rural district in the country. Too often, Democrats are painted as only representing cities, but we live in and speak for our rural communities too. That's why I'm so dedicated to fighting for this legislation.
The Rebuild Rural America Act would enable local leaders to plan for the future, invest in infrastructure, boost entrepreneurship, support public services, and build a sustainable economy.
We're in the position to uplift our rural counties, towns, and villages -- and we should be doing everything in our power to ensure that they can access direct federal assistance for this exact purpose.
It's our civic duty to stand up for our neighbors, even if we don't know them personally. So, will you fight for our rural communities and become a citizen co-sponsor of the Rebuild Rural America Act?
Friend, thank you for being a part of this fight. One day at a time, we will continue to make America a better place for all of us.
Onward and upward,
Antonio
