This past Saturday evening, CLCV was honored to hold the Badass in Green Awards—virtual version. 

The ceremony celebrated the incredible contributions of Executive Director of SEIU California  Alma Hernández; CEO & Founder of Sustainable Ocean Alliance Daniela V. Fernandez; and pivotal lobbyist and co-founder of Green California, the late Pete Price. 

Keynote Speaker Leah Thomas shared her gripping personal story, bringing home the pressing need to consider environmental, social, and racial justice through an intersectional lens. Collectively, the presenters and speakers inspired guests to press forward urgently and collaboratively on the climate crisis, environmental protections and for climate justice. Together, with people power, we can protect our future and our planet. 

After a year like never before, the awards show felt bigger and more poignant than ever. For those who were unable to attend, you can still make a meaningful contribution.

Together, we’ve elected a climate majority in the California Legislature—now we need to hold them accountable and push for the bold climate action necessary to secure a healthy, sustainable future for all.
