John,

Two weeks ago President Biden was sworn in, and we are now turning the page on the most anti-science, anti-environment presidential administration in decades.

We know it’s imperative within the first 100 days of the new administration to demand action on some of the most pressing issues of our time, and we’ve hit the ground running, making sure the Biden administration is doing everything it can to protect our food, water and climate.

So much has already happened in such a short amount of time we wanted to share with you what we’re working on with your help:

** Ban Fracking on all Public Lands: For almost a decade we’ve been demanding a ban on fracking on public lands, and on Wednesday, President Biden signed an executive order pausing new leases for fracking and drilling on federal lands. This action is a step forward, and represents a change of direction from previous administrations, but it needs to be followed by a stronger plan to protect our communities and planet from climate change. That’s why we’re continuing to push President Biden by demanding he blocks all future fracking infrastructure and permanently ban all dirty energy extraction on public lands.

** Halt All Water Shutoffs During the Pandemic: With more than 20 million Americans having contracted the coronavirus, and now over 400,000 deaths, it’s clear that people can’t wait for safe water. President Biden has the authority to act immediately by instructing the CDC to use its public health authority to stop all water shutoffs for the full duration of the COVID-19 national emergency. We’re demanding President Biden take executive action by issuing a national moratorium on water shutoffs. Sign the petition: Tell President-elect Biden to take executive action to stop water shutoffs.

** Stop Agribusiness Mega-Mergers: Megamergers threaten the livelihood of small farmers, rural communities, and the health of consumers and the environment. Right now all four of those are debilitated by the coronavirus pandemic. The biggest food and agribusiness companies exert tremendous power over our food system, prioritizing profits over public health, the environment and farming communities. President Biden has the power to stop this. We need to protect communities and consumers. That’s why we’re demanding he enact a moratorium on large agribusiness mergers and increase antitrust enforcement in the food and ag sector. Take action now to demand President Biden stop Big Ag Mega-Mergers.

John, for the first time in a long time we have a chance to move this country forward. The new Biden administration has an opportunity to make a huge difference when protecting our food, water, and climate, and with you by our side I know we can push this new administration in the right direction to protect our communities and the environment.

Because of your ongoing support, we’ve been able to take quick action and work on some of the most critical fights of our time — and win. I cannot wait to see what we can continue to do together in the fight for our future for food, water and climate.

Thank you for all that you do to protect our planet.
