Friend,
The federal minimum wage hasn’t gone up in more than a decade despite the rising cost of living in our country. At $7.25 an hour, American families are struggling to raise children, pay bills, afford rent, healthcare, or plan meaningfully for the future.
It’s unacceptable that our minimum wage has stagnated while costs balloon. That’s why Gerry has co-sponsored the Raise the Wage Act. And now, we’re asking you to join the fight to raise the minimum wage so that all American can thrive, not just survive >>
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen how essential service workers -- like those who stock shelves, drive public transit, and deliver meals and packages -- have taken on enormous risk in order to keep local economies going and enable others to stay safely at home. It’s not enough to just call these workers “heroes.” It’s time to put our money where our mouth is and support American workers with a fair minimum wage.
Together, we have the power to dismantle these barriers and shift the status quo. If you agree that no one who works a full time job should live in poverty, join us in demanding lawmakers raise the minimum wage NOW.
In solidarity,
- Team Connolly
