Marjorie Taylor Greene is a racist, seditionist QAnon lunatic who was elected to Congress last fall from the state of Georgia.
- In a video rant posted mere months before announcing her candidacy, Greene fantasized about politicians “cowering in fear,” urging her followers to “flood the Capitol building” and to be ready to use violence “if we have to.”
- Greene has also, on multiple occasions, indicated support for executing Democrats — including when she “liked” a comment on Facebook advocating “a bullet to the head” of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
- Mitch McConnell — the top Republican in the Senate — described Greene as a “cancer” within his party.
- Yet McConnell’s counterpart in the House, Kevin McCarthy, has failed to do anything about Greene.
This is where things stand:
Members of Congress — from both sides of the aisle and in both chambers — have no choice but to be concerned not only for their own safety but for that of their colleagues, their families, and everyone who works on Capitol Hill.
How do you vote your conscience on important legislation under those conditions?
So — perhaps as early as tomorrow — there will be a floor vote in the House of Representatives to remove Greene from the congressional committees on which she serves.
By congressional standards, removal from committees is considered a harsh rebuke.
But it is not enough for Greene.
Greene (and anyone else in Congress who openly advocates violence against their colleagues and the overthrow of the federal government) should be expelled from office.
And Congress has the constitutional authority to expel members who cross lines like Greene has done over and over again.
Tell your representative:
By all means, vote to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from any congressional committees. But that is not enough. Greene is a danger to everyone who works on Capitol Hill, to the American people at large, and to the basic tenets of democracy. I urge you to support her expulsion from Congress altogether.
Add your name.
Thank you for taking action.
For democracy,
