Yesterday, Pete Buttigieg made history!

The Senate confirmed Buttigieg, the former Mayor of South Bend and former presidential candidate, as the next Secretary of Transportation—making him the first openly gay Cabinet member in U.S. history.

John, this confirmation means more than just having a new Secretary of Transportation. Secretary Buttigieg is helping to show a whole generation of queer youth that they belong.

Pete is making history and breaking barriers as a gay man, and I couldn’t be more proud.
