When I was growing up, it was an American truth that if you worked hard, you could get ahead and build a better future.
But, folks, my generation is the first one at risk of handing our children less opportunity — not more.
Decades of inaction, partisan gridlock, dark money, and greed have left us a broken system in Washington. For too long, Republicans have given tax breaks to their wealthy friends and ignored the needs of hard-working Americans — forcing folks to choose between paying rent or putting food on the table.
The cost of living has steadily risen every year, but the federal minimum wage of $7.25 has remained stagnant. It’s unacceptable — especially during a pandemic.
It is our job as Americans to extend opportunity. And it is our job to leave our children and grandchildren a better world. That’s why I proudly support a $15 federal minimum wage.
With Democrats in control of Washington, this is our best chance to raise the unlivable minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 an hour. Sign on now to demand Congress pass the Raise the Wage Act.
Together, we can make a difference and ensure that no one working 40 hours a week lives in poverty.
