Did you see this op-ed about Rob Portman in the Washington Post?

"Maybe the junior senator from Ohio and other mainstream Republicans couldn't have stopped the Trumpist takeover of their party if they had tried. But they didn't try."

It's exactly right: Rob Portman knew better, but still appeased Donald Trump at every turn.

And while Portman will be out of the picture in 2022, his legacy in the Ohio GOP continues -- and you can bet that the eventual Republican nominee will be just as bad as Portman, if not even worse.
