Today’s the day, friend.
Please join Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David and other staff experts in conversation later today as we look at the progress we have made in the first two weeks of the Biden-Harris administration. See you there?
In this important discussion, we’ll also review some of the impactful new projects HRC’s been working on and preview our work ahead, including passing the Equality Act and so much more.
Here’s a sneak peek of what we will be covering:
- Pres. Biden’s history-making LGBTQ work. Learn about Biden’s executive orders implementing the Supreme Court’s Bostock decision and reversing the ban on transgender military service, plus review our Blueprint for Positive Change 2020.
- Critical LGBTQ appointments. Yesterday, Secretary Pete Buttigieg made history as the first openly LGBTQ, Senate-confirmed person to lead a Department. When confirmed, Dr. Rachel Levine will also make history as the first openly transgender, Senate-confirmed federal official.
- Commemorating Black History Month. Read Alphonso David’s reflections on its importance, especially this year.
- The release of key resources for equality. In the last month, HRC Foundation launched both the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), measuring LGBTQ equality in the workplace, and State Equality Index (SEI), measuring LGBTQ equality on the state level.
- Deepening our HIV work. Human Rights Campaign and Gilead will work together to combat the HIV epidemic and promote transgender justice. Here’s our press release.
As you can see, we have much to discuss. That’s why we hope you’ll join us -- RSVP HERE!
See you in a few hours!
