We are thrilled to announce that Finding Hope: Battling America’s Suicide Crisis, the CNN special report co-hosted by Anderson Cooper and AFSP’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Christine Moutier, won an Emmy!

In addition to Dr. Moutier’s presence on camera, AFSP worked behind the scenes with Anderson and the show’s producers to provide guidance on suicide prevention and safe messaging, suggest guests as well as topics to be covered, and even helped fill the audience with some of our local volunteers. The show, which originally aired last summer following the deaths of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade, received its award in the category of Outstanding News Discussion & Analysis.

A huge thanks goes out to Anderson Cooper for continuing to shine a spotlight on this important subject, and to the entire team at CNN.

Be sure to check out the award-winning episode, as well as the Emmy announcement and acceptance speech.
