Hi there,

In our last survey, hundreds of people told us that healthcare is the most important issue to them -- and we know Abby feels the same.

Her work over the last nine months has proved to us that Abby is committed to expanding access to healthcare in our rural communities. She’s voted to protect the Affordable Care Act and to pass H.R. 986, the Protecting Americans with Pre-existing Conditions Act of 2019.

Iowans are facing a physician shortage in many of our rural communities. So Abby helped introduce bipartisan legislation like the Conrad State 30 & Physician Access Act which allows international medical students to stay in the U.S. after completing their residencies should they practice in underserved areas. She also wrote and sponsored H.R. 3302, the Keep Physicians Serving Patients Act of 2019.

Just this month, she helped introduce the MOMS Act to improve access to obstetric and maternal care for expectant and new mothers. Right now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that women who gave birth in 1987 had a better chance of surviving than a woman does today -- and today, we're hoping to hear from you on this critical issue:

Did you know that the U.S. is the only industrialized country with increasing maternal mortality rates?
