Hi John -- I wanted to make sure you saw Beth’s email. We are so excited to be working to help elect organic farmer and former representative Craig Hickman to the Maine State Senate! This will likely be a very close race and there is a vast difference between the two candidates when it comes to environmental protection and climate action. In his four terms in the Maine House, Hickman received a 100% score on our Environmental Scorecard, consistently voting for bills to protect our woods, waters, and wildlife. His opponent, William Guerrette Jr., served one-term (1995-1996) in the Maine House and earned a score of just 10%.
If you are able, will you chip in whatever you can to help us elect Craig Hickman to the Maine State Senate? Every dollar you can give will make a big difference.
Thanks so much!
Rani
John,
Election season isn't quite over, and we have an incredible opportunity to elect a climate champion to the open Maine Senate seat in southern Kennebec county vacated by now-Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.
We recently endorsed organic farmer and former State Representative Craig Hickman in the District 14 election because he will be a strong ally in the State Senate for the environmental issues we care about.
Craig has a deep commitment to protecting the health of Maine people and our clean air, land, and water and received a perfect 100% score on our Environmental Scorecard during the eight years he served.
But we know that winning this special election won't be easy. That's why we are doing everything we can to educate and turn out voters before Election Day on March 9 — and we need your help to keep this critical program running.
If you are able, will you chip in whatever you can to help us elect Craig Hickman to the Maine State Senate? Every dollar you can give will make a big difference.
Craig has advocated for making our democratic systems more equitable and fair, including initiatives to implement automatic voter registration, increase access to early voting, and offer online voter registration. And he cares about growing Maine’s clean energy economy and investing in renewable energy like solar power, which not only brings good-paying jobs to the state, but ensures that Maine does its part in the fight against climate change.
With this being a special election — which usually means low turnout — and a pandemic that is still raging across the state, we need to pull out all the stops to ensure we turn out every last vote for Craig in District 14.
Click here to chip in today and help us elect Craig Hickman on March 9.
Thanks for all you do,
