** Rosa Jimenez Is Released After 17 Years in Prison
------------------------------------------------------------
In 2005, Rosa Jimenez was sentenced to 99 years in prison for a crime she did not commit. Last week, after more than 17 years behind bars, she was finally released. Rosa was convicted of murder after a toddler she was babysitting died. This conviction was based on false forensic testimony, against which her original trial lawyer offered an inadequate defense. But in January, several top pediatric airway specialists testified that the medical evidence supports what Rosa’s always said — the child accidentally choked and died of complications. The judge agreed that no crime occurred in this case, and ordered Rosa’s release. ** WATCH: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Up With Robert DuBoise on NFL Network
------------------------------------------------------------
Last year, Robert DuBoise was exonerated after spending nearly 37 years in prison for the rape and murder of a woman in Florida — a crime he didn’t commit. Now he’s fighting for fair compensation from the state for the decades he lost. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are heading to the Super Bowl this weekend, heard Robert’s story and reached out to help. This powerful video, produced by the NFL Network, highlights Florida’s broken system and how the team is supporting Robert as he starts over — check it out, and spread the word ([link removed]) .

** Remembering Dion Harrell, Exoneree, Dear Friend, and Gentle Soul
------------------------------------------------------------
We are deeply saddened to share that our client, Dion Harrell, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 15. He was a proud father of two and a loving grandfather to three grandchildren. Dion, who was 53, was wrongly convicted of rape and spent four years in prison and nearly two decades on the sex offender registry for a crime he did not commit. Despite it all, he never stopped fighting for justice and was fully exonerated in 2016. Dion will be sorely missed. In his honor, please read these special memories of Dion ([link removed]) .

** Eddie Lee Howard Is Exonerated After 26 Years on Mississippi Death Row
------------------------------------------------------------
In 1994, a Black man named Eddie Lee Howard was wrongfully convicted for the murder of an elderly white woman in Columbus, Mississippi, and sentenced to death, based almost entirely on the pseudoscience of bite mark comparison. Earlier this month, after spending 26 years on death row for a crime he didn’t commit, Eddie Lee was finally exonerated with the help of the Innocence Project and Mississippi Innocence Project.
