After trillions of dollars have been spent by the federal government on so-called “COVID relief,” President Biden and his allies in Congress are pushing through another package. This time, House Democrats are trying to pass a resolution that will only require 51 votes in the Senate instead of the usual 60 votes for passage. This procedure, called “budget reconciliation,” is reserved for fiscal matters, but Democrats plan to load it with policies that will ultimately hurt businesses and families.
Despite Biden’s calls for “unity,” this is a highly partisan $1.9 trillion Democrat wish-list. The bill includes state bailouts, extensions to unemployment bonuses, up to $1,400 stimulus checks, and doubling the federal minimum wage to $15. Even though the increase in the minimum wage is directed toward federal employees, states will soon follow suit resulting in cuts to 1.3 million jobs. These policies will only make it harder for employers, state governments, individuals, and families to bounce back from the hardships of extreme lockdowns.
To make matters worse, roughly $1 trillion has yet to be spent from the previous COVID package passed in December. House Democrats aren’t concerned about achieving real results or protecting our paychecks.
Call or email your Congressman today to ask them to vote “NO” on H.Con.Res. 11, the budget resolution!
