Great blue heron

John,

Just hours after his inauguration, our new president acted decisively to help people and wildlife.

President Biden revoked more than 100 regulatory rollbacks that weakened safeguards for clean air, water, and public health. He took immediate steps to restore protections for irreplaceable landscapes like the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments, and our pristine Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And, our country rejoined the global fight to solve the climate crisis.

Will you send a thank you to President Biden, and urge him to do even more to help people and wildlife?

There is no time to waste. Both President Biden and Congress need to hear from advocates like you, John, to fully unwind the past four years of destructive assaults that included:

  • Allowing the release of toxins into waterways and the destruction of wetlands
  • Opening up vast habitat areas to mining, oil and gas drilling
  • Eliminating safeguards to keep planet-altering carbon pollution out of the air
  • Cutting off the ability for citizens like you and me to have a voice for wildlife
  • Shutting down sound science that can save the lives of people and wildlife alike

Your voice today can help lift wildlife and our natural world out of serious jeopardy and on to a path of restoration. Tell President Biden and your representatives in Congress to work quickly and fully on behalf of clean air and water, and the protection and restoration of our lands.

Wildlife species like great blue heron depend on habitats such as ponds, lakes, rivers, estuaries, and marshes—and a stable climate.

But over the course of the last four years, threats to this treasured species grew exponentially. Too many elected and appointed leaders gave way to interests with ties to the agricultural and fossil fuel industries that wanted clean water protections pushed aside and climate action halted. Frightening anti-wildlife assaults like this played out over and over again, across the Federal government and in Congress. Please ask the new President to prioritize the reversal of these threats within his first 100 days in office.

By taking action on day one for people and wildlife, President Biden moved the United States in the right direction. But, as he said after signing his initial Executive Orders, it is simply not enough and we must “do all we possibly can.”

Thank you for adding your voice and all that you do for wildlife and our natural world.
