Yesterday marked the start of Black History
Month and here at WisDems, we've decided to celebrate by honoring
Black Wisconsin leaders and trailblazers on our Twitter

( [link removed] )accounts. Be sure to follow us
on both platforms so you don't miss out on the celebration!
From contemporary leaders, such as Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes
(the first Black Lt. Governor in our state's history!) and
Congresswoman Gwen Moore (whose story of rising up from a working
family in Racine to becoming a leader in Milwaukee is still an
inspiration to us), to leaders further back in the history books
-- these are stories we need to center as we continue our work to
combat systemic racism in our state and across the country.
