“This is a time for choosing” is a phrase that Ronald Reagan frequently used when building his conservative movement. You would think, given what we’ve been through in our country, that this would be a time for Republicans to choose—to reject the extremism of Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Yet, as House Democrats have moved quickly to strip QAnon conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, Republicans have moved to censure their colleagues who had the courage to condemn Trump’s insurrection.

As a Party, Republicans have failed to come together and reject Trumpism, the insurrection on January 6th, or QAnon conspiracy theories peddled by elected officials like Greene.

Marjorie Taylor Greene seems to have never heard a conspiracy theory she disagreed with. Unfortunately, few Republicans have had the courage to stand up to her.
