Senator Josh Hawley is now portraying himself as the most prominent victim of cancel culture.
In his manifesto on the New York Post, Hawley writes that it is “time to stand up against the muzzling of America.”
Josh Hawley thinks that millions of Americans disliking him counts as censorship, but the true “muzzling of America'' doesn't come from so-called cancel culture or holding people responsible for attempted coups.
What would have actually silenced the voices of millions of Americans is if the right-wing mob that Hawley incited to storm Capitol Hill had successfully overturned the 2020 election results.
Hawley is just one of many GOP members who spread conspiracy theories and lies to undermine our democracy. The 147 Republicans who objected to the electoral college votes deserve to be held accountable for their stunt.
Here at Progressive Majority, we fully support punishing ANYONE who played a role in this assault on our country. We need to make sure these seditious GOP legislators are truly CANCELLED. The only way they will be truly “muzzled” is if they're voted out of office -- and the best way to do that is to hit them where it hurts: their campaign donations.
Thank you for standing up for our democracy and setting the example. We will remove these dark-money Trump loyalists together.
