Many of you may have seen a photo of me cleaning the Capitol last month -- some of you asked why I stayed to help after the attack. Well, I wanted to show you a different photo to explain.

This is my mom, an immigrant from Korea, with my sister and me the first time I ever went to Washington. She taught me to love and care for the nation that made our story possible. She instilled in me the values of hard work and service from a young age. I will carry the lessons she taught me to my work serving in Congress every single day.

We're all ordinary people living in extraordinary times, and the only way we'll get through this is by working together. We can stop this pandemic, restore our economy, make health care more accessible, and protect our democracy. But we can't do it alone.

Sunday marked our first fundraising goal of 2021, and I wanted to reach out and say thank you for helping us reach our goal. It's not lost on me that I can't do this job alone either. You and this entire grassroots network have made my path to Congress possible -- from when I first visited the Capitol as a kid to serving working families there now.
