Right now in Congress, we’re battling for a COVID relief package that meets the urgency of the moment―including $2,000 monthly payments, water as a human right, and delivering vaccines to communities most in need. But the reality is that as Congress debates what to include in the next round of COVID relief, millions of people and families are hurting and need help right now.

Last week, I wrote to you about the urgent need to support struggling people in my district―the third poorest in the country. And we set a goal of raising $10,000 to provide 600 Detroit-area households with bags of nonperishable food items.

Thanks to you, we doubled our goal, raising $20,000. Now we can serve 1,200 households in the Detroit-area.
