While thousands of Kansans are being forced to take drastic measures to ensure their health and economic wellbeing during an ongoing global pandemic, Republicans in the Kansas House and Senate passed the Value Them Both Bill last month in the hopes of making abortion illegal, even in the case of rape, incest, or when the mother's life is in danger.

Kansas Republicans intentionally chose the August 2022 primary for this vote to sneak in a constitutional amendment when most people aren't paying attention. This is dirty politics and we believe all Kansans' voices should be heard. The COVID-19 pandemic has already proved how important it is to elect people who will prioritize health care, workers’ rights and an economy that works for all of us -- this is just another egregious example of why we must make big Democratic wins across Kansas in 2022.
