Friends,
We’ve been busy.
Last week was the beginning of a new era in the climate movement. More than 4 million people across the globe marched for climate action last Friday in what was the largest climate mobilization in history — demanding that decision makers around the world listen to the youth and act with the urgency that this crisis demands. It is anticipated that millions more are marching today.
#youthvgov plaintiffs joined this momentous day of action at strikes across North America. From Anchorage to Miami to Mérida, Mexico, these brave leaders helped organize their communities to demand that their rights and their futures be protected.
Juliana plaintiff Vic Barrett addressed hundreds of thousands in New York City, calling on people to join him writing a new story:
“A story in which our country is doing everything in its power to address not only the climate crisis, but the systemic injustices that are at its roots. A story in which our constitutional right to a safe climate is recognized by the highest courts. A story in which the most vulnerable people are given the greatest protections. A story in which indigenous peoples are empowered to protect their homelands.”
