Congressman Jimmy Gomez: “I call on my House colleagues to support my resolution to immediately remove Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from this legislative body.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene -- Georgia Republican, QAnon supporter, and avid conspiracy theorist, has come under global scrutiny for her part in instigating the devastating attack on the Capitol this January.
Her radical expressions of violence have a long history -- claims that Nancy Pelosi coordinated school shootings to increase public support for gun control, physical harassment of school shooting victims, continued denial that the Parkland school shooting even happened, and threats of violence against Nancy Pelosi herself.
We applaud Congressman Gomez for stepping up when Taylor Greene's Republican colleagues continue to cower -- his actions in the face of violence have exemplified just how crucial it is to our country that we have progressive Democrats willing to fight for what is right in the House.
Disturbingly, Taylor Greene faces little risk of punishment for her vile actions. The House Republicans appear too unwilling to break from their loyalty to Trump to admit she's gone too far. If Republicans are willing to accept a member into their ranks who has actively threatened the lives of many elected officials, will they ever draw a line?
Together, we can show Republicans that their protection of radical extremists is a losing battle -- it's time to kick these cowardly representatives out and elect new progressive champions. We at Progressive Majority are doing our best to send them a message, but we're falling just short of our fundraising goals.
