America is the greatest nation this world has ever seen, brimming with opportunity. We are both the birthplace of freedom’s greatest ideas AND the first to put them into practice. This country has a legacy of success, producing successful people from a wide array of backgrounds that we should all be proud to celebrate. We are taking a stand for the country's principles and our shared history during these precarious times.

Black History Month 2021, the first since the mainstream explosion of identity politics last spring, gives us an opportunity to reflect on more than just individual successes to score politically correct points. We want to appreciate these black heroes for what they are: important pieces of the beautiful American mosaic.

They remind us when we take charge of ourselves and invest in our families and communities around us, real change and real prosperity are sure to follow. I know this is true because… I’ve done it!
