Brad called for investments in our future and pushed back on cuts to education in the first debate of the Comptroller race.

Brad Lander for NYC Comptroller

Dear John,

When Brad took the virtual stage on Sunday night for the first debate of the Comptroller race he laid out a clear vision for investing in our collective future to build a strong recovery for all New Yorkers, not just the wealthiest.

(Comptroller debate starts at 1:10)
Brad struck a strong contrast with opponents who talked about cutting school spending, NYCHA, and social services. When asked how he’d find savings to help our city’s fiscal crisis, he pushed back against cuts to social services. Instead Brad said he’d look to the bloated NYPD budget, over-budget infrastructure projects, and end a $1 billion tax credit for private real estate developers who regularly cheat on their affordability promises.

The Comptroller’s office is tasked with stewarding our city’s finances and holding government accountable to its promises, to public sector retirees and to future generations of New Yorkers.

As Brad said, “There's a reason we don't hire someone from Wall Street for this job.”

Can you share the video to help spread the word about Brad’s campaign?

Thank you and stay safe,

Team Lander

P.S. With new opponents jumping into the race, we know we’re going to have to pull out all the stops to get Brad there. Can you chip in $10 to help us stay on track?
